Continuing with the zoo visit... Previous parts are here:
RI Zoo 1
RI Zoo 2
RI Zoo 3
RI Zoo 4
RI Zoo 5
There is a trail in the zoo, called the Marco Polo Trail. I think the idea is to see some of the things Marco Polo might have seen on his travels. (Maybe a bit of shake here.) It was very dark inside the building and I didn't want to use flash because it would have taken away from the general appeal of the scene
This was an exhibit inside the building
This is courtyard that led to the building
There were all kinds of paintings and murals on the wall. Below are some of the "window" paintings and murals

Continues here: RI Zoo 7 Note: Thanks for all of your comments and for taking the time to stop by. Mom is still here, so my time is limited.
In response to a couple of comments about yesterday's post - Yes, the turtle was real. I agree that it looks like it's made of wood. Even seeing it up close it seemed that way.
And thanks for the thoughts about the leopard, too. I have mixed feelings about the white spots of light in the background. I think it's a bit silly looking, but then again, when I look at the larger version on my computer, the spot of light gives the picture some depth. I have no idea what I'll decide. ;-)

I'm with Klaus...this is some terrific zoo!
What a neat place Lin. I've never seen a zoo include exhibits like this. Holding you and your mom in my thoughts and prayers today.
This is one fantastic zoo! Love the Marco Polo and that turtle from yesterday is just beautiful. And he does look like he's been carved.
Lovely Pics Lin
I love things like this! Thanks for sharing these because it makes me able to virtually visit places I may never go. :-)
Love the arches and windows. This is an incredible zoo. RI is just not a place people get by accident, however!
Boy, this is some kind of zoo! I really enjoy seeing the 'artsy' photos. Quite and interesting place for sure!
Lin: That certainly is a specail part of the zoo and truly interesting.
