In the shade of a tree near a pond, some wild Mallards have made the zoo their home. Life can't be too bad there, when wild creatures decide to move in

I think this is an African Spurred Tortoise... Not sure

Snow Leopard yawning
He was high up on a rock cliff within his area and there was no way to avoid the netting in my picture

A very sweet face

Aww, he looked at me

I masked the netting on this this one and darkened it down. Should I remove that silly bit of light? We have differing opinions here. ;-)

Red Crowned Crane. Not the best shooting angle. The only way to view them was from above. Maybe you can get a better look if you enlarge the picture by clicking

Dromedary

Note: A couple of people asked about the little boy with the spider in yesterday's post. It was a plastic spider. He was a cute little kid.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Hi Lin! Beautiful day at the zoo. I would leave the light in the snow leopard photo. Lisa

I, on the other hand, would remove the light. It's removing the focus from the snow leopard. What a glorious creature.

They are all so beautiful! Don't know which I want to talk about. Each one is perfect. Mallards are not exotic, but your silhouette shot is. As for the rest - I want to reach out and touch each one.

I love the leopard, but I wouldn't want him sucking my neck the way my cat does every morning. Gr8 photos Lin. Debs x To you and Mom

Almost missed these! I can see why someone thought the turtle was carved....it looks exactly like wood! Wonderful shot. Love the leopard shots, too. I think you should remove the light spot, because the pure black background would be great with his coloration. Try it both ways!

That leopard is great! The last time I went to the zoo, the leopard there was in a cage and I couldn't get a shot that didn't have the cage in front of it. I hated it so I really, really appreciate these shots. They wonderful. As for the one with the light, I didn't even notice it until you mentioned it.

Love, love, LOVE the snow leopard. Netting or not, light or not. Wonderful pictures. To capture in a yawn, just priceless.
