RI Zoo 4

Continuing with the zoo visit... Previous parts are here:
RI Zoo 1
RI Zoo 2
RI Zoo 3

Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree, merry, merry king of the bush is he...

A sign along the way that I agree with

More flowers

In some of the gardens were these rustic displays

How could I resist taking a picture like this? :-)

Wallaby

There were a lot of wild Canada Geese there pecking in the grasses. This slightly leucistic one caught my eye. Note its neck.

RI Zoo 5

Note: Thank you so much for coming by and for your comments. I have read them all and they made me smile. Things are still difficult at the moment, so my visits and posts are hit-or-miss these days. I'm just trying different things to relieve the stress. Otherwise, I'm fine. Family is fine. Just gotta keep on keepin' on. ;-)

Bird Girl mentioned the anteater on page two of this zoo series. I was very surprised by how big they are. While they weigh much less than I do, their bodies are large. It looked like I could have hopped on its back and been carried around. It was the first time I had ever seen one. Amazing creature.

Oh, Lin, these are gorgeous. I love that you thought to photograph the sign with the Emerson quote. It's a good one.

Very nice photos. Thanks for sharing Emerson's quote--that's very good advice.
Hang in there & don't worry about the blogosphere. When life gets stressful the stressed should relax.

We'd all do well to remember that quote! More nice shots...and that wasn't a real spider was it???

May things be back to good soon! That third photo just has to be a hydrangea! Lovely photos as always, Lin. It seems many are going through turbulent times...don't know why, but I hope there's goodness at the end of this. Blessings!

When I was a child we sang that song in school - I NEVER knew a kookaburra was a BIRD - for some reason I thought the song was about a bear??? Funny! Great shot - he looks like a Kingfisher.
Does that little kid have a live tarantula? That is the picture of the day!

Lin, of course the kookaburra is my favorite, but I love every photo. Thanks! I hope things have eased off a bit for you.

More great shots. I want to go back to the zoo now... or maybe I'll go through my last shots and see if there are any I haven't posted or forgot about. :-)

No one could resist that picture! Glad you shared it!

As for stress, do what it takes. Never good to get yourself more stressed! Most people understand, I think. I also never worry about the ones who don't!
