Just A Little Walk 2

If you missed the beginning, Part One is here: Just A Little Walk 1
. This little Swallow was getting blown around by the wind
.
And I was keeping an eye to the sky, as the clouds continued to build
.
As I began to make my way back to the car, I spotted this Catbird showing off his colorful under-tail nicely. I have often seen flashes of the rust color when they visit my suet feeders, but never have been able to capture it with my camera until now
.
He was singing beautifully, as the wind was beginning to blow him around

I looked off across the pond. I swear I saw Dorothy and Toto. Rainbows and storm clouds... I'm sure they must have been there somewhere

A female Red-Winged Blackbird swayed on a branch
.
The sky was getting darker in one direction, so I began to pick up the pace
.
But, how could I not stop when I see a rainbow?
.
Zoomed in
.
Across, in the other direction, the sun was trying to poke through, creating some crepuscular rays
.
As I stepped off the boardwalk, I spotted some Cedar Waxwings high in a tree
.
Driving home, taking the back roads, I saw two turkeys in a field
.
And right next to them was this pretty deer.
.
There was a clap of thunder and then some lightning. It was starting to rain now, so that ended my little escape.
.
Adding a small note here:
.
Many thanks to Quinttarantino at Lenses and Visions for the giving me the beautiful Arte y Pico Award. I'm honored that you chose Sandpiper's Place for this award. I've placed it on my Awards Page. :)

Loved the clouds in photo number two, thats the type of sky you'd see in a dramatic painting.

Very beautiful as always - I love the little wind-blown swallow in the first photo, and that's the most amazing shot of a catbird I've ever seen - it's perfectly gorgeous.

Another spectacular walk Lin. I love the clouds of course, and that rainbow is different. Just beautiful.

Chirp, chirp, chirp ... someone told me to come flying over here just to see great photos and deliver a message:

"I hope you don't mind but I made a little change on my last post ... someone put your name there as the winner of an award!

Lin: What a super shot of the rainbow. You always make me feel that I'm on your walk with your narration. Thanks for having me along.

Beautiful pictures....love the sky shots! I'm so glad you posted that Catbird picture! I've tried to get a picture of the undertail area, too, but they never cooperate at the feeder long enough to get the color. Beautiful rainbow....so low. And the deer...what a nice finish!

That was a great walk - especially love the Catbird picture - where you can see the red feathers, that usually are more or less invisible.
And then the Skies, the deer and.. and.. and...
Thank you for taking us!
Cheers, Klaus

You sure see a lot on your walks, Lin! My favorite is that Catbird showing off his underside! What a cool catch!

The swallow with the wind blowing through him was nice to see, and didn't know the catbird had that "fancy rusty undergarments!"

I loved the picture of the Tree Swallow blowing in the wind but then I scrolled down and saw the one of the Gray Catbird! How awesome it is to get a shot with the colour of the under tail showing so clearly! This is a great photograph. I love it.

I love seeing the little birds with the ruffled feathers. And those shots of the sky? Breathtaking! I love the sky when the sun's rays seem to beam through the clouds down on earth and you got it!

Your sky shots would be excellent "Sky Watch Friday" entries! Mme. la Vache loves the bird photos!

"Louis" thanks you for your visit to San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.

"Louis" is up past his cowbell in a work project for the next several weeks, so he may stop by and take a look but not sign the 'guest registry'.
