Spring in My Garden

A second post for today.
.
Mom is home now and has settled in. She's doing great! Thanks for all the good wishes.
.
I managed to get all of my work done today, so I had a little time left to walk in my garden. I had looked out the window and noticed a spot of color, so I grabbed my camera and out the door I went!
.
Good decision! I discovered that I have a number of flowers in bloom.
.
There were several crocus plants in bloom, as well as Andromeda, Lungwort, Forsythia, and Hellebore.
.
The birds seemed to understand that spring is here. As I walked outside, they stayed close by in the bushes and chattered. It was wonderful!
.
And guess what? NO COAT!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful! I hope you enjoy my first spring flowers. I've also included a view of my brook. The water level is back to normal now. If it rains like they are predicting for the weekend, it will be raging white water again.
.
The picture above is a crocus.

Beautiful flowers. I love them and I like the photo of the creek too. I'm happy that you are finally seeing spring. I am off for another hike in Towsley Canyon tomorrow with a retired friend so I will have some new photos. Don't know how many flowers will still be there. Hope it will be a nice day.

Hi Kay! Thank you. I was thrilled down to my socks to see flowers!! Woohoo!! That's fantastic about your hiking plans. Get lots of pictures. I'm enjoying your blog so much. I love your sense of humor, too.

Hi Michele, Thank you. You have such a fascinating blog. I had a ball exploring there this afternoon.

Hi Greg! Nice to see you. Thank you for the comment and the visit! I've been enjoying your blogs, too. Seeing the Charleston area is making me want to move there again.

Linda- Beautiful images. I didn't recognize half of these plants. They are all things that you have planted in your garden?

Hi Tom, Thanks! I've added the descriptions now. I should have done it before, but it slipped my mind. A lot of these were planted from my husband's parent's garden when they passed away. I wish we had taken more because the people who bought the house just plowed everything under. Their gardens were gorgeous, too!

Hi Mary, Thank you! I had no idea what the flowers were until somebody showed them on their blog awhile back, and then recently you did, too. They called them Lenten Roses, so I did some searching and found them. I really like them, too.

Hi JB! Thank you! I've been enjoying your blog, too. :)

I love your brook and your flowers. I have always wanted a brook in my backyard. Great pictures!

Hi Eve! Thanks! I enjoyed my visit to your blog today. I do like being outdoors. It was fantastic to see flowers FINALLY!

Hi Dave! Sending color your way via DHL. I think that's the fastest. ;-) That particular bunch of crocuses seems to be a darker color than the rest that I have. Someday I'll move from here and I'll dig them up and take them with me.

Hi Bird Girl! I was so surprised to see that many flowers in bloom. My house is on a hill and I don't see a full view of the garden from inside.

Hi Heidi! It is kind of fun to have a brook in the backyard, but it's on such a slope that I never get down to it. It's still nice to hear it though.

Thanks for all of your comments.

Gorgeous colors!
Wonderful to look at.
Are you sure about the Andromeda?
I had an almost identical shot here
(http://virtua-gallery.com/wp/2008/03/31/butterfly-expedition-part-ii/) and all I came up with was Fetterbush.
Cheers, Klaus

Flowers LOL
Spring isn’t quite so far along here, but not much far behind. Helleborus is truly a lovely flower to photograph, and you did a good job on these and all the others :D

Beautiful crocus.. glad you added the names. :)

Soooo beautiful. The purple is so intense. The Hellibore is one of my favourite flowers, I like all the variations of colour that you can get. Its funny that you can only see their beauty if you lift up their little heads.

Lovely flower pics! I like that Hellebore close up and the Andromeda. The crocus are always so nice when they tell us spring is really here. Three cheers on the no coat! Isn't it wonderful! I'm glad your mom is doing well. That brook must be an endless source of nature photos :-)

Hi Toni, Thank you. Spring has been a long time in coming, so I was so excited to finally see flowers again.
I enjoyed seeing your blog and your pretty artwork.

Hi Nature Girl, Nice to see you. Thank you! I'm sooooo ready for spring!

Me and My Camera - I'm so glad that you have finally see some signs of spring wehre you are too. Thanks so much.

Hi Bobbie, Thanks for the good wishes about my mother and the nice comment. I couldn't believe my eyes when I got outside and saw how many flowers were in bloom, I had no idea because they aren't all visible from my window.

Thank you, Birdlady. Wearing no coat was fantastic! It was in the high 50s, so a sweater was fine. I couldn't believe it.

Hi Jayne! I'm happy that Mom is finally home again. So is she. ;-) Thank you.

Hi Klaus, Thanks! Good spotting on the plant! I'm no expert, but I think they are both pieris genus, but mine is a cultivated pieris japonica and yours might be Pieris phillyreifolia. Don't take that to the bank though because I'm not sure. ;-)

Hi Kostas, Thank you very much for your kind words. It was nice of you to visit my blog. I've just visited your blog and it's beautiful.

Mosefruen, Look! It's spring!! lol Thank you! I thought you were quite far ahead of us actually. These flowers of mine seemed to pop up overnight.

Good morning, Stacey, Thank you. I hope you're enjoying your day!

Hi Suburbia, Thanks so much. The Hellebores are so interesting. It took me a couple of years to identify them. I had to move some stems around to make the inside of the flowers visible, so that I could take the pictures. I wasn't about to lie down on the wet ground to take the picture. lol

Good morning, Mary, Thank you. This is the best time of year because it forces me to get out there and watch closely for every detail. I loved not wearing a coat.
